BAST holds Party history learning and education mobilization meeting

According to the related requirements of the CPC Central Committee and Municipal Party Committee regarding Party history learning and education, on March 11, BAST held a Party history learning and education mobilization meeting. Secretary of Leading Party Members’ Group of BAST Ma Lin mobilized and made arrangements for Party history learning and education at BAST, while member of Leading Party Members’ Group and Vice President of BAST Liu Xiaokan conveyed related requirements of the CPC Central Committee and Municipal Party Committee regarding Party history learning and education. Over 50 individuals including bureau-level leaders of BAST, all section-level cadres of organs and public institutions of BAST and officials of general Parch branches of social organizations attended the meeting. The mobilization meeting was presided over by member of Leading Party Members’ Group and Vice President of BAST Tian Wen. 

Ma Lin pointed out in his mobilization speech that everyone is expected to raise their political stance and profoundly understand and grasp the important meaning of Party history learning and education campaign. Since the 18th CPC National Congress, General Secretary Xi Jinping published a series of important expositions surrounding learning, harnessing and using history, which are strategically foresighted and extensive and profound, innovatively developed the Marxist historical materialism and provided ideological guide and fundamental observance for us to establish the right view of history. At such an important historic node like the 100th anniversary of the founding of CPC, deeply studying and carrying out a series of important expositions of General Secretary Xi Jinping regarding firm establishment of the right view of history and deeply conducing Party history learning and education is an inevitable requirement for staying true to original aspirations and missions and advancing the historic cause of great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, the inevitable requirement for holding fast to firm belief and faith and sticking to and developing the socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, and the inevitable requirement for advancing the self revolution of the Party and keeping the Party vigorous forever, bearing a great significance for the whole Party continuously enhancing the “four consciousnesses”, remaining committed to “four matters of confidence”, achieving “two preservations” in learning, thinking, practicing and enlightening, and wining the great victory of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era. 

Ma Lin pointed out that in recent years BAST has been focused on understanding and practicing the Party’s requirements for enhancing the “political, advanced and mass” characters of social organizations, accomplished the tasks of 3-year deep reform in a high-quality manner, walking on the forefront of provincial associations for science and technology across the country in all aspects of efforts and stepping onto a new platform in terms of its undertaking. Deeply conducting the Party history learning and education will surely further motivate all Party members officials of BAST to remain committed to original aspirations and missions, carry forward the glorious traditions and excellent work style of the Party, continue advancing the high-quality development of BAST’s undertaking in a reformative manner and contribute to the construction of the capital city of the great socialist motherland, moving towards a capital city of a great power amid the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and construction of a world-class harmonious and livable capital city.

Ma Lin emphasized several requirements: focus on the objectives and requirements, fully carry out the decisions and arrangements made by the CPC Central Committee and work requirements of the municipal Party committee, effectively learn wisdom and gain confidence from history, and continuously enhance political judgment, apprehensiveness and execution. Strictly carry out the requirements of the CPC Central Committee and municipal Party committee, focus on eight aspects, and systematically master the theoretical achievements formed by CPC in advancing the localization of Marxism in China; firmly grasp the requirement for ensuring the solidarity, centralization and unity of the Party as the key to creating centennial great cause; deeply remember the glorious course of the Party’s 100-year struggle; deeply understand the great contributions made by the Party to the country and nation; deeply appreciate the original aspirations and missions of the Party in unremittingly serving people; deeply appreciate the valuable experience of the Party in successfully advancing revolution, construction and reform; further grasp the historical development patterns and general trends. Firmly grasp the key requirements of learning and education, focus on the requirements of “learning Party history, enlightening thoughts, doing practical things and opening up new situation”, and work hard on “four combinations”: firstly, working on the combination of looking back at history and returning to the reality by strengthening the progressive efforts in gaining confidence from history; secondly, working on combination of theoretical empowering with work practice by absorbing great ideological power from learning, thinking, practicing and enlightening; thirdly, working on the combination of honing the Party character with practicing original aspirations so as to better serve the people; fourthly, working on the combination of carrying forward the spirit with improving skills to write the most beautiful chapters in forging ahead.

Ma Lin required participants to strengthen organizational leadership and advance the Party history learning and education campaign at BAST in an effective and efficient manner. First, leadership team members are required to set a good example of deep learning and enlightenment, all Party branches and general Party branches are required to seriously ensure self study and massed learning of Party member officials, with the Party branch secretaries personally responsible for the efforts. Second, stick to overall planning and taking all factors into consideration, associate advancing the Party history learning and education closely with the high-profile celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the founding of CPC, deeply integrate the efforts with annual priorities, further expand the coverage and working platform of political guidance, and effectively transform the Party learning and education results into surging motivations to advance the high-quality development of BAST’s cause. Third, grasp the right orientation, establish the right view of Party history, accurately seize the theme, main thread and mainstream essence of the historical development of the Party, correctly understand significant events, figures and meetings in the Part history, unequivocally oppose historical nihilism, firmly resist wrong inclinations to distort and demonize the Party’s history, guide sci-tech workers to establish the right view of history, nation, country and culture. Fourth, strengthen publicity and guidance efforts, deeply publicize the spirit of the CPC Central Committee and related arrangements made by the municipal Party committee, publicize the good practices, experiences and achievements of BAST in learning and education, while using various media resources to extensively publicize new practices, achievements and styles of all Party members in the thematic education and to create intense public opinion climates for Party history learning and education. 

BAST will seriously study and implement Xi Jinping’s thoughts on socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, effectively enhance the sense of responsibility, sense of purpose and sense of urgency, strictly carry out arrangements and requirements of the CPC Central Committee and municipal Party Committee, commit itself to Party history learning and education wholeheartedly, strive harder to advance the deep reforms of BAST system and innovative development of BAST’s cause and celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of CPC with more outstanding achievements.
