Beijing Adolescent Robotics Competition（BARC）is co-organized by Beijing Association for Science and Technology(BAST) and the government of the district where it is held. Launched in 2000, this annual event is the oldest and most popular robotics competition in Beijing. As a key scientific and innovative program for primary and secondary school students in Beijing, it has been playing an important role in popularizing robotics and in nurturing innovative talents. Its categories include Comprehensive Skills Competition, Creative Competition, VEX Robot Engineering Challenge, Educational Robot Engineering Competition and Robot Intelligence Engineering Challenge. During the competition, activities like lectures and exhibition are also held.
BARC aims at arousing the youth’s interest in engineering and technology, inspiring innovation and improving engineering thinking, problem-solving skills and teamwork. It offers a multi-disciplinary and multi-tech platform for young robotic fans to learn from and communicate with each other and showcase their achievements. Also, it promotes robotic education and spreading of robotic knowledge.
