Yue Hongzhi attends Beijing Sci-tech Courtyard Expansion and Quality Improvement Drive Advancement Meeting

On June 4, 2021, “I am doing practical things for the public”—Beijing Sci-tech Courtyard Expansion and Quality Improvement Drive Advancement Meeting took place at Xiaoheifa Village sci-tech courtyard in Daxing District. Member of Standing Committee of Beijing Municipal Party Committee and Director of Unified Front Work Department Sun Meijun attended the meeting and awarded the “Ten Best Sci-tech Courtyards in Beijing” and “Beijing Sci-tech Courtyard Base for Alliance of Joint Promotion of Rural Revitalization”. Class-1 inspector of BAST Yue Hongzhi participated in the meeting. 

 Sun Meijun said the sci-tech courtyard empowers agriculture with science and technology, implements the instructions of Secretary of Beijing Municipal Party Committee Cai Qi and embodies responsibility, aspirations and commitments. The sci-tech courtyard created a new approach to fueling the rural revitalization efforts and generated numerous highlights in the process of talent cultivation and rural governance. 

  Sun Meijun pointed out that as the next step we are going to improve the demonstrative and guiding functions of the sci-tech courtyard by adding 6 sci-tech courtyards to existing 54 sci-tech courtyards, which will reach 300 villages; we are going to improve its function of talent cultivation by selecting 100 village secretaries of Party branch and villagers for specialized training at college campuses so as to build a team of “100 new farmers” and make sci-tech courtyard a comprehensive platform for social practice; we are going to enhance its function of supporting rural revitalization to work on ecological environment and rural governance aspects such as waste and garbage recovery, to actively play its role as a platform for “I am doing practical things for the public”, build up rural culture, form one custom per village, play the role of democratic parties, innovate in democratic supervision models, contribute to the spiritual civilization construction in rural areas and let the spring breezes of Party history learning and education to blow into sci-tech courtyards. 

 Sun Meijun emphasized that the sci-tech courtyard drive needs to be included in the annual prioritized work plan of “10+2” alliance members and are expected to become a platform demonstrating practical actions of doing good to the public interests as a name brand. 

  China Agricultural University, Beijing Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences, Beijing University of Agriculture, Beijing Vocational College of Agriculture and Beijing Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs made speeches at the meeting, which was attended by the Department of Moral Education of the Ministry of Education, Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission, BAST, Beijing Municipal Committee of China Democratic League and Beijing Municipal Committee of Jiu San Society and related unified front work departments of district Party committees.
