Meng Fanxing attends the 2021 Beijing International Audiology Conference

On June 5, 2021, the “2021 Beijing International Audiology Conference” jointly sponsored by BAST and Beijing Society of Audiology was inaugurated at Beijing International Convention Center. Member of Leading Party Members’ Group and Vice President of BAST Meng Fanxing attended the opening ceremony of the conference. 

   During the conference, Meng Fanxing visited the “new technologies · new products · new services” audiology industry exhibition to understand the development trends of science and technology in China’s audiology industry through participation in and experience with the exhibition. 

   Many famous scholars from the US, Australia and Denmark participated in the conference online, while over 600 top-notched domestic experts and related practitioners participated in the conference offline. The conference took the form of online sharing by international guests and offline lectures by domestic guests to deepen the academic exchange and industry cooperation in the field of audiology during the normalization of the pandemic containment, as well as promote the prosperity and development of the aural rehabilitation industry an enhance people’s wellbeing and health level.  

   Vice Chairman of Hearing International Prof. Bu Xingkuan shared the “World Hearing Report” and the opportunities and challenges to the development of audiology in China; Director of Auditory Research Center of UC Irvine Prof. Zeng Fangang shared “AI Can Solve Those Issues in Audiology”, while senior audiologist of Ear Institute of Australia and guest professor with The University of Western Australia Otology Center Dona Jayakody shared “Hearing Loss and Cognition”. About 60 other famous audiologists shared and discussed the development trends of audiology both at home and abroad in the forms of workshop, keynote speech and roundtable forum, as well as achievements in specialized education, standard setting, clinical screening and diagnosis and binaural and bimodal intervention, etc. 

  The “new technologies · new products · new services” audiology industry exhibition that took place at the same time as this conference attracted 39 domestic and overseas audiology companies and institutions to show at the event collectively. The exhibits were abundant, hearing aid products complete and diverse and peripheral auxiliary products distinctive, attracting sci-tech workers in the industry and numerous hearing-impaired individuals to experience the industry development in a one-stop manner.  

  The academic forum and hearing industry exhibition at the conference fully demonstrated the prosperous development of China’s audiology industry and provided a strong driving force for industry interaction and win-win cooperation.
