BAST holds the 2021 united front work meeting

On April 20, 2021, BAST held the 2021 united front work meeting to convey the spirit of the united front work meeting of the municipal Party committee, summarize united front work of BAST in 2020, and study and layout key tasks in 2021. Member of Leading Party Members’ Group and Vice President of BAST Tian Wen presided over the meeting and made a speech.

The meeting conveyed the spirit of the plenary session of the united front work leadership group of the municipal Party committee and municipal meeting of united front work department heads, studied documents such as “Regulations of the Communist Party of China on United Front Work”, “2021 Work Essentials of the United Front Work Leadership Group of the Municipal Party Committee” and “Division of Work Program for Studying, Publicizing and Implementing the Regulations of the Communist Party of China on United Front Work”, before conducted focused discussion of united front work tasks in 2021 in light of operational reality of BAST. 

Tian Wen pointed out in his speech that everyone present is required to deeply implement the important thoughts of General Secretary Xi Jinping on strengthening and improving the united front work, further raise their political stance, correctly understand the relation between united front work and BAST organization, and both work properly on enabling sci-tech talents and win the hearts and minds of all parties concerned by making friends deeply and extensively and pooling strengths; include the united front work in the main responsibility and business of BAST, elaborately plan the efforts, improve the capabilities and attract as many sci-tech workers as possible to contribute to the construction of the capital in a concerted manner.

Tian Wen emphasized the need to include the study of the “Regulations” in important learning content of all Party branches and various training seminars and cadres of section level are required to stay ahead of others in studying the “Regulations” deeply, especially those “top leaders”; the specific practice of all departments in conducting united front work needs to be combed through and summarized in a timely manner to form distinctive experience as an important element of departmental appraisal and supervision; a united front work mechanism of the BAST needs to be established with secretaries of Party branches as the persons chiefly in charge, and all Party branches need to appoint united front work liaisons to facilitate the quality improvement and efficiency increase of the united front work in a coordinated and planned manner.

Related officers of all departments of the BAST headquarters and all public institutions directly affiliated to BAST participated in the meeting.
