The Awarding Ceremony of the Workshop on the Improvement of Innovation Ability of Scientific Imaging Teachers and Beijing Youth Scientific Imaging Creation Bases Was Held

During the home field activities of 2020 National Science Popularization Day in Beijing and the 10th Beijing Science Carnival, Beijing Research Institute of Science & Technology Education Innovation Scientific Imaging Top Teacher Studio held a special event, that is the Awarding Ceremony of the Workshop on the Improvement of Innovation Ability of Scientific Imaging Teachers and Beijing Youth Scientific Imaging Creation Base in the afternoon of September 21. Liu Ran, Deputy Director of Beijing Youth Science Center, Ke Zhonghua, Director of Science Popularization Department of Xinhuanet, Yu Ran, an associate professor of Communication University of China, and Zu Haodong, Vice President of The High School Attached to Beijing Jiaotong University, and other leaders and guests attended the Event. There were also 15 backbone teachers from the city having attended the event.

 

 

In order to further tap the city's youth scientific imaging high-quality resources, improve the level of the city's youth scientific imaging education, expand the recourses of teachers in the Scientific Imaging Top Teacher Studio, and better deepen the education of scientific imaging into schools, classrooms and communities, the Studio has identified five schools as the first batch of "Beijing Youth Scientific Imaging Creation Bases" in 2020. By establishing these bases, the Studio can better pool resources, build platforms, play a role of demonstration and pilot and train talents. During the event, Deputy Director Liu Ran awarded the licenses to the five schools evaluated as the bases: BDA School of the High School Affiliated to Renmin University of China, The High School Attached to Beijing Jiaotong University, Beijing No.22 Middle School, Beijing Qinghe Middle School, and the Primary School Affiliated to Communication University of China. Ke Zhonghua, Chief Expert of the Studio, and Yu Ran, the Consultant Expert, respectively awarded the letter of appointment as a "studio member" to the five front-line science and technology teachers.

 

 

Zu Haodong, a representative of the bases and Vice President of The High School Attached to Beijing Jiaotong University, delivered a speech. He expressed that the school will take advantage of the opportunity of the application for being a Beijing Youth Scientific Imaging Creation Base having been accepted, with the help of the platform and resources provided by the Beijing Association for Science and Technology, to vigorously support this event, continuously increase the impact of scientific imaging activities in the school, and attract more students and teachers to participate in the scientific imaging activities through the construction of elective courses and community courses so as to finally achieve the aim of education by virtue of the activities. At the same time, we will broaden the platform for exchange and display of scientific imaging projects, create more opportunities for students to exchange and display, play the leading and demonstrating role of a base school, share the accumulated and explored experience with the surrounding schools, drive the development of surrounding schools, and promote the growth of the team in scientific imaging activities.

 

 

Vice Director Liu Ran first congratulated the five base schools, hoping that this honor would better encourage these schools to actively carry out the work of youth scientific imaging, and innovate and consolidate the cause of youth scientific imaging education. In recent years, Beijing Youth Science Center has been constantly thinking and improving the work of youth science popularization, striving to fulfill the double upgrade of both the concept and the practice of science popularization, constantly innovating the form of youth science and technology education activities, encouraging youth to experience and master the process and methods of scientific research and to feel the artistic beauty brought by images in scientific imaging activities. As for Beijing Research Institute of Science & Technology Education Innovation Scientific Imaging Top Teacher Studio, in order to gather more teacher resources and escort young people, it has achieved improvement in the dissemination of scientific ideas and scientific methods. In this process, the schools’ leaders, teachers, students and many parents have given great support to convey value with high-quality works and create with full enthusiasm and positive attitude. She said that the awarding of the license of a base is not only an honor, but also a new starting point and a responsibility. We hope that we can create a better creative environment, build a higher display platform and provide more professional industry resources for students with a more enthusiastic attitude and close cooperation to firmly hold children's curiosity, jointly promote the development of youth science imaging industry and enable more youth to establish the ideal of exploring science, cultivate scientific thinking and scientific methods, and form a correct outlook on life, world and values.

 

 

 

After the awarding ceremony, a workshop on the improvement of teachers' innovative ability with the theme of "the music in images" was carried out. Zhao Yiming, the person in charge of Xiangdu Studio and China's first-line film composer, was invited to give a lecture in this event. Based on the actual cases of the teachers on the spot, Master Zhao taught the knowledge of film and television score and sound effect processing from the perspectives of "the functions of film and television score", "the forms of film and television score" and "how to balance the proportion of film and television score" so as to provide practical operation solutions for teachers and effectively improve the ability of science and technology teachers to guide students' work production. The teachers all expressed that the workshop content meets the creative needs and can provide the problem-solving solutions in specific situations. The relevant content of the course will also be compiled and broadcast online in the form of a public welfare course.
